This notice explains how Certe Events uses the personal information you give us through this website, including the enquiry form and the chat.

Who we are

Certe Events, based in Blackburn, Lancashire, is responsible for your information (the "data controller"). You can contact us about anything in this notice at info@certebyshifa.com or on 07742 419294.

What we collect

• Enquiry form: your name, phone number, email (if you give it), the type and date of your event, venue or town, approximate guest numbers and anything you tell us about your plans.
• Chat: your name, a phone number or email, and the messages you send us.
• Technical information: to run the chat, your browser is given an anonymous ID so you can see your own conversation when you come back. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Why we use it

We use your information to reply to you, check our availability, prepare quotes and, if you book with us, to plan and deliver your event. Our lawful basis is that you have asked us to take steps before entering a contract with you, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries. We will not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell them.

Who can see it

Only the Certe Events team. Your information is stored securely with Google Firebase, which acts as our data processor, on servers in London, UK. We may share event details with our own staff who are working on your event.

How long we keep it

If you don't book with us, we delete enquiries and chats within 2 years of our last contact. If you do book, we keep booking and payment records for 6 years, as required for our accounts.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, or object to how we use it. Contact us using the details above. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
